>Queensland Members and supporters will have the chance to meet with the Rabbitohs NRL squad during their trip to Brisbane when they take on the Broncos.
The team will be arriving into Brisbane on Virgin Blue Flight 947 at 3.30pm. They will head immediately to Langlands Park at Coorparoo to meet with our Members and supporters. The players will NOT be training at Langlands Park, having trained earlier in the day at Redfern Oval. Instead, they will be completely available for autographs, photos, a chat and maybe even a kick of the footy.

Where: Langlands Park, Main Avenue, Coorparoo
When: Thursday 16 July Time: 4.30pm – 5.30pm

· Autograph signing 
· Rabbitohs handouts (autograph cards and stickers)
· Kick on field with players
· QforSS Supporter Group Raffle (win a signed jersey)

Q4SS are raffling off a fully signed Rabbitohs Jersey. Tickets will be available at Langlands Park and at the Transcontinental on game day. They are $2 each with all proceeds going to the Cherbourg Junior Rugby League Club (Chris Sandow’s Junior Club).
PLEASE NOTE: The player’s arrival at 4.30pm will be subject to the flight being on time from Sydney. While unlikely, should the flight be significantly delayed, it may alter the timing and structure of this event. 

Brisbane Broncos v South Sydney Rabbitohs
Date: Friday 17 July
Where: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Time: 6.30pm
Queensland for South Sydney will be holding a prematch and post match functions at the Transcontinental Hotel opposite Roma st station. The pre match function will kick off at 1pm with the post match one starting at 9pm we will be drawing our signed jersey raffle around 9.30pm.

> From all reports the game in florida against leeds was a success apart from Scott Geddes injuring his hamstring. There was a big promotion in the media over there, some of you may have seen spud carroll on the tonigh show, the match was a sellout and al the merchandise they took over was sold too. In the actual game Leeds ran out to a 26-0 lead at halftime but we fought back with mostly a second string side to make the final score 26-24. Russell Crowe was presented with a motorbike built in rabbitoh colours from the "American Chopper boys. Here are some photos from the game. More here

>Well our boys are in Jacksonville Florida preparing for the trial game against Leeds Rhinos 4am sunday morning our time. The game is not scheduled to be televised at this stage but it will be broadcast live on internet radio. You can tune in online here 1010XL internet radio I tuned in a few minutes agthe guys discussing our game. They were amazed that "these guys hit as hard as the NFL with no padding". It will not only be a good hitout against Leeds but it will also raise our international profile.

>Craig Wing has signed a four year deal to return to the Rabbitohs next season.
>The sportsmans lunch was FANTASTIC some people have an affect on a room when they walk into it and for me Bob McCarthy is one of those people. The lunch was well emmceed by Mark Braybrook and he was able to direct their conversation to give the audience some insights into the playing careers of Bob McCarthy and Kerry Boustead and it was very entertaining. be sure to lookout for some photos of it in the next newsletter.
>Souths will have two captains in 2007 with David Kidwell and Peter Cusack named as co-captains. Cusack is the incumbent captin from 2006 and Kidwell was a member of the storms leadership group as well as being captain of the kiwis. The announcement was made at the fan day BBQ today. Coach Jason Taylor made emphasised that Cusack earned the right to be captain with his leadership during training as he wanted to begin with no captains and have players earn the right to captian and he and Kidwell were the standouts.“We are blessed with a lot of experience in our squad this season,” Taylor said. “We have a number of players who have been part of leadership programs at their previous clubs, captains of their country, and experienced players, and I felt that the best two men to lead our players were Peter and David. Both players have a wonderful rapport with their team mates, are fantastic leaders of men, and I’m proud to be able to announce their appointments as captains.”
>Our Agm was held on the 11th of december and our committee has been streamlined down to 6 members it is President Robert Olivieri; Secretary Kathi Searle, Treasurer Geoff Roberts, Kathi is also vice president, ordinary committee members are Joe Kelly and Andrew Fell.
>We will be doing some fundraising at Easts leagues club on Monday evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm raffling off meat trays and some club vouchers to start off with. All are welcome to come along and have a chat maybe you will see a future rabbitohs star at the club!
>Souths have signed Queensland under 17's halback Luke Capewell for two years he will be dual registered with Easts in brisbane playing for the tigers but on standby for the rabbitohs. Luke will tour europe with the Australian schoolboys later this year.

The North Sydney Bears will be our premier league team next season and we will also be affiliated with Brisbane Easts where young queenslanders who we sign will play without having to move to Sydney. To support this we will be having match day functions at Easts Leagues Club and when the team plays in Brisbane the post match functions will be there too.
