News:
>There
will be an open training session once again at Langlands park in
coorparoo from around 4pm. Souths are putting on a sausage sizzle
again and the players will be there to have a chat and sign some
autographs. We will also be selling raffle tickets for a signed
jersey with proceeds going to Cherbourg juniors. This year we will
be giving away a rabbitohs backpack as second prize in the raffle.
>All the action on game day kicks off at the Transcontinental
hotel opposite roma st station with our AGM being held at 12pm
followed closely by our pre match function the main game kicks off
at 3pm. The post match function will start around 5pm with the
signed jersey raffle being drawn around 7pm back at the
transcontinental good luck.
>Great to see the boys travelling well and are entrenched in the
top eight in fifth spot with a very healthy for and against. Once
again we don't seem to like being favourites and lose to the weaker
sides but win the games the experts tip us to lose. A fantastic win
against the tigers was followed by a narrow loss across the ditch
and then a trouncing of the second placed panthers! The game in brisbane will be on Sunday 13th
of june at 3pm. Before and after match functions will be at the
transcontinental hotel with more details to come as the date gets
closer.
>QforSS has donated three “bunny buddy”
memberships which is essentially a junior ticketed membership for
underpriviledged kids through the souths cares group.
>This
season we are donating a hotdog cooker to Cherbourg junir rugby
league and will be visiting them on July 10th
more information about this will be forthcoming in the next few
weeks.
>Our AGM will be held at the Oxley hotel on May 16th
at 1pm before the SCG game against the tigers.
>We are
having our charity shield function at the Oxley hotel on Ipswich
road at Oxley. The coverage starts at 6.30pm but come early for a
pre-game bite to eat.
> Reports from Sydney are very
good with the new guys settled into training well and everyone is
happy.
>After Dave Taylor rolled his ankle at training a
couple of weeks ago Sam Burgess was drafted into the All Stars
game and was the best prop on the ground!
>We should start
the season with an almost empty injury list with even Rhys Wesser
(remember him?) being fit. Mick Crocker is stil recovering from
groin ankle and shoulder surgeries.
